Writesure, specialist insurance protection for freelance authors and writers

Policies can be arranged to include a range of protections relevant to authors, writers and content creators, including cover for claims relating to libel and slander, copyright infringement, breaches of confidentiality, negligence, privacy matters and public liability. Depending on the policy, cover may also extend to network security issues, virus transmission and the accidental loss or damage of documents.

Additional cover options may be available for business equipment, business interruption, employers’ liability and certain costs arising from a data breach or cyber incidents.

Cover may apply regardless of the medium in which your work is published or distributed, including books, newspapers, magazines, journals, websites, television, radio, video and film.

Subject to the policy’s territorial limits, jurisdiction clauses, terms and conditions, policies may provide cover for work published or distributed internationally. Depending on the policy selected, cover may also be extended to include claims brought in jurisdictions outside of the UK.
