Travel Agents Insurance
We can provide cost-effective Liability Insurance for Agents who are also acting as principals. This includes liability arising out of the actions of suppliers such as hotels which may now be your responsibility.
Travel agents share many similar risk exposures to Tour Operators and require similar covers in many cases.
The liability risk for Travel Agents is generally slightly more contingent than that of a Tour Operator but Agents do need to carefully consider the impact of the Package Travel Regulations 2018 to ensure that they have appropriate cover in place to meet their exposure to risk.
Travel Risk Professionals can advise on what insurance covers should be considered to provide the best protection.
We work with small start-ups through to nationally-recognised brands. Because of this, our innovative approach to all types of travel and tour operators enables us to provide a first-class service in a crisis which is when you need us most. We provide a wide range of travel agent & tour operator insurances from Professional Liability through to 24/7 Crisis Response. Our team boasts a wealth of experience, and we have our own in-house Liability scheme backed by leading Underwriters.
Following the revision to the Package Travel Regulations in 2018, many companies who traditionally always viewed themselves as travel agents, either in full or in part, became tour operators or principals overnight.
Whilst the revised regulations were laudable from a consumer protection perspective, it did mean that some Travel Agents had immediately incurred more liability exposure than before. In the past, many travel agents have looked at their exposure to risk and gone down the Professional Indemnity and office insurance route. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this, but typically it would not provide any protection against Package Travel bookings made against Travel Agents for injury, illness or worse.
We have built strong relationships with a large number of quality industry professionals from Lawyers through to Crisis Responders. We have the ability to provide strong, instant responses in the most traumatic events. This includes terrorist acts, which provides clients peace of mind and also enhances their own duty of care to consumers.
In addition to supporting clients, we are also active speakers on the Travel Industry lecture circuit. We regularly provide educational lectures across the country. Generally, we find that many businesses are misinformed or unaware about what cover they need. A common mistake is that a tour operator insurance policy will be enough to protect their business. Through this network we are able to better understand and help the industry.
We are corporate members of the Institute of Travel & Tourism. We are also Insurance Advisors to the Latin American Tour Association (LATA) and the African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA).
