Jensten Group strengthens London Market and underwriting construction teams

Jensten Group has expanded its Wholesale Division’s liability and construction operation with two key hires. Paul Snashall joins Senior Wright as Liability and Construction Placing Broker to drive growth across its existing book of high-end, high value construction clients. Stuart Daffin has joined City Underwriters as Senior Construction Underwriter to head up the development of a bespoke construction underwriting proposition for the SME and middle market, incorporating single project, CAR, and annual policies.

Paul, who has over 40 years insurance experience in the Lloyd’s and London markets joins from insurer MS Amlin where he was Senior Casualty Underwriter. Prior to that role he was Regional Director of London Market Risks Casualty at broker JLT.

Stuart, who has over 10 years construction underwriting experience, joins from Thames Underwriting, where he was Construction and Casualty Underwriter. Previous experience includes roles at HSB Engineering, Axa Insurance and Allianz.

Simon Taylor, Managing Director, Jensten Wholesale commented: “The recruitment of these very experienced construction and liability specialists underlines our ambition to provide a full product offering to this burgeoning sector, catering for multinationals through to individual trades people. Both will work closely with underwriters and capacity specialists to offer quality solutions.”

“The UK construction sector is worth £120bn to the UK economy and employs 2.4 million people, of which 36% are self-employed.  The addition of our new SME offering compliments the high-end, higher risk policies placed by Senior Wright and the capita e-trade solution from our wholesale and e-trading specialist Policyfast, enabling us to provide brokers with a one stop shop for all their construction and contractors’ insurance needs.”
