At the heart of Jensten’s Employee Benefits offering are real people who care deeply about doing right by clients. This month, we’re shining a light on Sophie Guiver, whose passion, honesty and human approach to protection have shaped the way many of our client’s experience working with Jensten.
A career moment that shaped her leadership
For Sophie, leadership was forged through experience, a decade spent working across a variety of broker environments, each with its own way of doing things. Over time, she realised something essential: “Clients don’t want to be sold to. They want honest advice and to speak with a human.” Understanding this has become the cornerstone of the way she leads and the way she supports clients today. It’s less about products, more about reassurance and remembering the real people on the other side of every conversation.
What she’s most proud of
Sophie lights up when she talks about the team. “We’re a small team, but incredibly passionate about what we do, and there’s so much experience between us.” She’s also acutely aware of the industry’s reputation. Brokers are often grouped into the same category as estate agents or cold callers, but Sophie sees that as an opportunity. Every day, she and the team work to reshape perceptions by genuinely caring about outcomes, proving that great advice and empathy can redefine the client experience.
A fun fact you might not expect
Before entering the insurance world, Sophie spent 10 years as an actor. It’s a part of her life that surprises clients, and one that probably explains her warmth, confidence and natural ability to connect with people.
The value she leans on when things get tough
Sophie approaches challenges with refreshing perspective: “A job is a job; there will always be highs and lows. Everyone goes through them.” She believes in staying grounded, staying human, and, when needed, relying on the weekend essential we can all relate to: “You can never go wrong with a glass of wine… or two.”
What she wants every client to feel
Above all, Sophie wants clients to feel trust in the advice they receive, in the relationship they build with the team, and in the knowledge they share “We want clients to know that they can trust our advice, and we will continue to make sure that our relationship with our clients is paramount. No grey areas, just honest advice.”
