Insurers not familiar with this industry can be hesitant to provide cover due to these ‘shooting’ activities, yet for most businesses in the sector claims arise from slips and trips. In fact, it is rare to see a claim resulting from the ‘shooting’ itself.

We work with insurers that understand this and will not waste your time by asking for quotes from insurers that hold this misunderstanding.

We also bear in mind that equipment is likely to be stored on site, sometimes in metal shipping containers. This is no issue, we can help you to cover this within the policy also.

Many insurers avoid covering these businesses altogether and some insurers offer policies that are just not practical. One main issue we see is insurers picking and choosing which of the activities they will cover, 4×4 driving is acceptable but axe throwing is not, for example.

We will only arrange policies which will help to provide cover for all of your business activities. We also understand that you may offer a range of activities, including some which may at first at first glance seem quite risky. This does not phase us.

We will take time to understand each of the activities you offer. We will also look at the risk assessments you have carried out to identify risks, the precautions you have put in place to stop accidents from occurring, and other supporting health and safety documents such as incident logbooks. We will then present these to insurers to show your business in the best light and give you the best chance of securing a quotation that works for you.

Because of the level of hazardous activities and the average age of the participants, some insurers deem these venues as too dangerous and will not insure them.

We work with a number of insurers that have a more accurate view of the extent of danger presented by these activities, which are happy to provide cover.

Our policies can include cover for scooters, roller/ice skates, BMX bikes or equivalent as standard.

Additional activities such as fitness classes, mini skate classes and trampoline volley-ball do not present any significant concerns and we will discuss how to cover these.

We can also arrange cover for mobile operations such as Christmas ice rinks.

Supplying equipment to events comes with the risk of relying on your client to use, secure and store the items correctly.

For example, marquees need to be properly secured, supervised and operated in accordance to industry standards to prevent damage. Injuries incurred whilst using a bouncy castle or photo booth may lead to clients holding your responsible as the hirer.

Our staff are able to advice on your exposures and ensure that you are protected from incidents such as these.
